Anna Petrova is considered by audiences and critics alike as one of the most exciting new talents to emerge from Bulgaria. She is a prizewinner of numerous national and international piano competitions including the José Roca (Valencia), Bösendorfer (Sofia), Maria Yudina (St. Petersburg), Adilia Alieva (Galliard), and Pancho Vladigerov (Shoumen) piano competitions. She was recently selected as one of the few pianists to perform in the New Masters on Tour recital series managed by the International Holland Music Sessions, which includes recitals in the Netherlands (Concertgebouw among other halls), Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and other European countries.


Since an early age, she has been highly praised for her performances as both a recitalist and orchestra soloist in her native Bulgaria, as well as in Serbia, Macedonia, Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Spain, and the United States, in prestigious halls such as Steinway Hall, Carnegie Hall (New York), Conservatoire Russe (Paris), Bösendorfer Hall (Vienna), Auditorio Ciudad de León (Spain), and National Philharmonic Hall (Sofia). She has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as Sofia National Philharmonic Orchestra, Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra, Shumen Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Iuventas in Spain, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Joven Orquesta Solidaria de Valencia, and Joven Orquesta de Andalucía, also in Spain. Her performances have been broadcast on Bulgarian national radio and television.


In January of this year Anna was invited by conductor Philippe Entremont to make her New York debut with Mozart concerto K.271 and the Manhattan Chamber Sinfonia.
Future engagements include solo and concerto performances in Bulgaria, United States, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain.


Born in Plovdiv, after initial studies with Svetlana Kosseva (a student of the acclaimed Shostakovich biographer and scholar Sofia Khentova), she moved to New York in 2005, where four years later she completed a Bachelor´s degree as a full scholarship student of Horacio Gutiérrez at the Manhattan School of Music. She is currently in her fiftth year of studies, as a candidate for the Master of Music Degree, now in the studio of André-Michel Schub.
