FRANCISCO LANZILLOTA
Francesco Lanzillotta was
born in Rome in 1977. He graduated in Conducting under the guidance of M°
Bruno Aprea and in Composition, with full marks, with M° Luciano Pelosi. He
specialized in Conducting with M° Harold Faberman inNew York at BardCollege,
and with M° George Phelivanian in Madrid. He also studied piano with M°Velia
De Vita.
One of the youngest emerging conductors in the Italian musical scene, in the
last years he conducted in some of the most important Italian theatres. He
is regularly invited by Orchestras such as “Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese (L’Aquila
– Italy)”, “Orchestra di Stato Libanese (Lebanon)”, “Orchestra del Teatro
dell’Opera di Varna (Bulgaria)”, “Orchestra Tito Schipa di Lecce (Italy)”,
“Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio (Italy)”, “Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice
(Genova – Italy)”, “I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano (Italy)”, “Orchestra da
Camera Fiorentina (Florence – Italy)”, “Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta (Italy),
“Jonde Orchestra (Spain)”, “Orchestra dell’Università Cattolica (Roma-Italy)”,
“Orchestra La Grecia (Catanzaro – Italy), “Orchestra della Magna Grecia
(Taranto – Italy), Orchestra del Conservatorio di S. Cecilia (Rome- Italy).
Francesco Lanzillotta has been invited as a conductor several times by
“Accademia Filarmonica Romana (Rome)”; in 2009 he conducted Strawinsky’s
Histoire du soldat with Gruppo Strumentale Musica d’Oggi and with the actor
Luigi Maio, performing it in the main Theatres in Rome. For the same
Institution he will conduct the oratory Saint Nicolas by Britten in december
2010.
After his début in July 2010 with Cavalleria Rusticana and i Pagliacci at
Varna Opera House (Bulgaria), he has been appointed Principal Guest
Conductor for 2010-2011 season and he will inaugurate this position
conducting Le Nozze di Figaro on 23rd november 2010.
In the next autumn, he will also make his début with Sofia Philharmonic
Orchestra(Sofia- Bulgaria)” and the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra in Seoul (Korea).
In 2010-2011 season he will also conduct Nozze di Figaro, Macbeth.
As a composer Lanzillotta has composed the music for several works for
theatre and sound-tracks for shorts and films such as Piccole cose di valore
non quantificabile, Nessun Messaggio in segreteria and Viaggio in Italia by
Paolo Genovese and Luca Minero and collaborated with Nanni Moretti for the
film Il Caimano. He also composed the music for the balletsL’Angelo Azzurro
and Narciso, produced and performed by the company Astra Roma Ballet by
Diana Ferrara.
In 2010 the “Accademia Nazionale di Danza” in Rome commissioned him to
compose the music for the ballet to be performed to celebrate the 150th
anniversary of the Unification of Italy.
First prize in 2005 in the prestigious “Valentino Bucchi” International
competition , first prize in 2007 in the “Nino Rota” Composition Competition,
he also won the special mention at the “Oreste Sindici” Composition
Competition in 2004.In the same year he was one of the finalists in the
“Vieri Tosatti” Composition Competition and in 2007 he won the prize
“Fontane di Roma” for the music of the ballet "Narciso”.
In 2008 he won the “Enap” prize for his artistic activity as a conductor.
He has recorded for VDM Records Lucio Gregoretti’s opera L’ultimo avventore
in distribution in 2010. |
