The Course is intended for young pianists wishing to improve their interpreting and conducting ability, and for young orchestras.

The Course is also open to students, professors and musicians in general, and to anyone who wishes to assist as a listener.

GENERAL INFORMATION

PLANNING OF THE COURSE
First phase: Auditorio Ángel Barja

29th and 30th of June - mornings – Maestro
Horacio Gutiérrez will give classes to the pianists.
29th and 30th of June - afternoons - Maestro Bruno Aprea will give conducting classes, whose order he will establish with the pianists who will interpret the musicals pieces to be worked in each session.
At the end of this first phase of the Course maestros
Horacio Gutiérrez and Bruno Aprea - Piano and Conducting – will select the students who will be allowed to pass to the following phase, which is to say, those who will be rehearsing with the Orchestra on the 1st to 5th of July.

Second phase: Auditorio Ciudad de León.
Second phase: 1st to 5th of July
Maestros Horacio Gutiérrez and Aprea will give Piano and Conducting classes, whose order will depend on their own criteria and decisions.
At the end of this second phase of the Course Maestro Horacio Gutiérrez and Maestro Aprea will select the students, among the ones who have rehearsed with the Orchestra, who will take part in the Gala Concerts on the 4th and 5th of July.

Third phase: Gala Concerts Auditorio Ciudad de León.
4th and 5th of July

During the mornings of the 4th and 5th of July will take place the rehearsals of the concerts which will be celebrated each evening.
The Gala Concerts will take place at 8.30pm and the entrance will be free for all students enrolled, no matter the modality.


SELECTION  PROCESS CALENDAR
ACTIVE STUDENTS

All active students must send the following documents before the deadline pointed out for each modality:
- Application form properly filled in.

- Curriculum
- Musical engagements of the last years.
- Three ID photos.
- Bank receipt of the payment of the registration rights (10% of the total amount of the cost of the Course: 55 €).

Pianists:
Pianists must send their Curricula Vitae and a video or a DVD with a recent personal recording of at least one of the concerts they will present at the Course (with an accompanying pianist or with an orchestra) before the 1st of April 2008. The concert must be recorded by heart.

Maestro
Horacio Gutiérrez will carry out a selection of the received documentation and all students will be informed of the selection's results.

The selected pianists will have to enrol as active students before the 30th of May.

Conductors:
Conductors must send their curricula and their latest musical performances before the 30th of May, as before mentioned.

Active students of orchestra conducting must prepare the six concerts indicated in the repertoire of the Course.

Maestro Bruno Aprea will carry out a selection among the registered active students by means of a personal test on the 6th of July from 5.00pm on at the Fundación Eutherpe, whose address is: Calle Cardenal Landázuri nº 6.

The selected conductors will have to pay the total amount of the registration fee on the1st day of the Course.

NOTES:
Maestro Horacio Gutiérrez together with Maestro Aprea will have the last word on the selection process and on the decision about the total number of active students, as well as on the repertoire to be worked out by each student during the course.

Active students who will not be allowed to carry on as such upon the Maestros' decision during the Course's selection process will be allowed to attend as listeners if they wish it, and they will of course be refunded the difference of money between the registration fee's payment and the tests they have passed.

During the Course the piano students will be able to study at the León's Professional Conservatory of Music whose address is Calle Santa Nonia, or at the Eutherpe Foundation's School of Music, whose address is Calle Cardenal Landázuri 6, within the established time-table.

All students must bring the scores of the concerts indicated in the repertoire of the Course, and active students will have to bring the original scores and also the binded photocopies for their corresponding professor.

ENROLMENT AS LISTENER STUDENTS
Listener students are allowed to attend both piano and conducting classes, as well as the orchestra rehearsals and the Gala Concerts.

The registration's deadline for listener students is the 20th of June. In order to enrol they must send the application form properly filled in, and the bank receipt of the payment of the total amount of the fee.
The corresponding Certificate of Participation will be conferred to all active students, and the Certificate of Attendance will be also be conferred to listener students who will have attended the total schedule of the Course (50 teaching hours).

Registration Cost:
Active students pianists and directors: 550 Euros
Listener students: 160 Euros

Note: In case of any kind of repayment it should be considered that the 10% of the total amount of the registration fee concerns the registration rights and the course reservation, and therefore it will not be refunded.
