The course is aimed at: Young pianist professionals and orchestra conductors, and Young orchestra groups.

 

The Course is also open to students, teachers and musicians in general, and to anyone who wishes to assist as a listener.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION: phases in which the course is divided:

 

First phase: (2nd and 3rd)

Location: Auditorio Ángel Barja. (Professional Provincial Conservatory of Music)

Address: C/ Santa Nonia, 11.  León, only conductors, with the accompanying pianist

               Auditorio Eutherpe; Address: Calle Alfonso V nº 10, León, only pianists.

 

Second phase (4th and 5th)

Location: Auditorio Ángel Barja. (Professional Provincial Conservatory of Music.)

For pianists, all conductors and the accompanying pianist.

 

With orchestra:

Third phase: (6th, 7th and 8th)

Location: Auditorio Ciudad de León.

Address: Avda. Reyes Leoneses, 4 León

Classes with the Young Orchestra.

 

Fourth phase: (9th and 10th)

Location: Auditorio Ciudad de León.

Address: Avda. Reyes Leoneses, 4 León

Mornings: Preparatory classes for the concert.

Closing concerts at 19:30 h.

 

DEVELOPMENT OF THE COURSE

 

FIRST PHASE: Auditorio Ángel Barja and Auditorio Eutherpe

Dates: 2nd and 3rd

The piano and direction Professors will work the days 2nd and 3rd, separate, at the indicated location.

 

SECOND PHASE: Auditorio Ángel Barja

Días: 4th and 5th

Combined classes with the accompanying pianist: José Gallego.

The classes will take place in the order set by the Professors.

Once this first phase of the course is over, the piano and direction Professors will select the participants that will pass to the next phase. Those will work with the orchestra on the days 6th, 7th and 8th. 

 

THIRD PHASE: Auditorio Ciudad de León

Date: 6th, 7th and 8th 

The professors Aprea and Soriano will teach the piano and orchestra direction lessons in the order that both of them will establish. Similarly to the previous phase, at the end of this second phase, the professor will determine who amongst all the students that have worked with the orchestra will participate in the Closing Concerts on the 9th and 10th.

 

FOURTH PHASE: Closing Concerts in the Auditorio Ciudad de León.

 Date: 9th and 10th 

The rehearsals for the concerts that will take place in the afternoon will be during the mornings of both days.The Closing Concerts will take place at 19:30 h. and the entry is free for all the students enrolled in the course. It is an invitation from Leon´s City Hall department of culture, and from the Auditorio Ciudad de León in collaboration with Eutherpe´s Foundation.

 

 

SCHEDULE FOR THE SELECTION PROCESS

 

ALL ACTIVE STUDENTS

All active students must send the following documentation before the date indicated for each specialty:

    - Fully completed enrolment form.

- CV with the musical activity developed over the last years.

-                    - 3 passport-size photographs.

-                    - Photocopy of the Identity Card.

-                    - Receipt of payment of the booking fee (10% of the total fee amount: 50 €).

 

Pianists:

Send to: Fundación Eutherpe, calle Cardenal Landázuri nº 6. 24003 León, a recent recording either on video or DVD of at least one of the concerts that will present for the 7th course (with accompanying pianist or with orchestra) before the 20th of May. The recorded concert must be played by heart.

 

Professor Joaquín Soriano, will proceed with a selection based on the documentation received. The results of this selection will be communicated to all the candidates.

 

The pianists selected must formalise the definitive fee enrolling status as active students before the 30th of June.

  

Conductors:

They must send before the 30th of June, the documentation specified above.

 

The orchestra direction active students must prepare the concerts and overtures included in the repertoire of the course.

 

Professor Bruno Aprea, will teach his classes to all enrolled directors in Auditorio Ángel Barja during the first two days of the course (the first phase) and at the end will chose those who will proceed to the second phase.

 

Once the second phase is completed, he will indicate who will work with the orchestra in the Auditorio Ciudad de León.

 

NOTE:

 

1.      The selection and determination of the total number of active students, as well as the repertoire that each one will work with trough the course, is exclusively left to the decision of the professors.

 

2.      The active students that due to the decision taken by the professors will not continue as such from any of the four phases in which the course is divided, will pass from then on to be listeners if they wish to, and they will be refunded the corresponding part of the change in the fee status, according to which phase they reached.

 

3.      The pianist students will be able to study in the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de León, address: C/ Santa Nonia s/n, during the course days within the established hours.

 

4.      All the students must bring the music of the concerts indicated to work with them in the course; active students will bring the originals and binded copies for the appropriate professor.

 

 

Rates for pianists and conductors, active students:

Pianist students,  full course: 600 €

Conductor students, only the first phase: 200 €

Conductor students, only first and second phase and one day with orchestra: 400 €

Conductor students, full course and closing concerts: 600 €

  

 

REGISTRATION FOR LISTENER STUDENTS:

Listener students have the right to assist to all the classes, both of piano and orchestra direction, as well as to the rehearsals with the orchestra and the closing concerts.

 

The enrolment deadline for listener students is the 20th of August. In order to formalise the registration hey must send the enrolment form fully completed and the bank receipt of the payment of the full amount of the course fee.


A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to active students, while a Certificate of Assistance will be awarded to listener students that attend full time (50 hours).

 

Note: In case of proceeding with any type of refund to the students of this course, it must be taken into account that 10% of the total fee amount belongs to booking rights, and will not be refunded under any circumstances.

 

Rate for listening studnets: 200 €

Ademar´s Foundation collaborates with Eutherpe´s Foundation by facilitating to the active and listening students of this course the following prices (VAT included):

Full Board in double room: 22 € per day.

Full Board  in single room: 35 €  per day.

 

The payment of the accommodation will be made directly at the Reception of the Residence during the first days of the Meeting. The check-out hour for the 11th of September must be specified.
