ACTIVE PIANISTS: Inscription deadline by May 30, 2021.

Active students – piano and conducting: 800 euros
Passive (sit in) students: 200 euros

All students (active and passive-sit in) must submit the completed Inscription Form via email to:





- CV (short) listing the applicant’s musical activity of the past few years.

  • 1 passport photograph in JPG format
  • Scan of Passport or ID card
  • Proof of payment (bank receipt) for the correct inscription fee (10% of €800 = €80). The remaining €720 must be submitted upon confirmation of the active student list.

IMPORTANT: The 10% inscription fee corresponds to the processing and handling fee and may not be reimbursed in the event of a cancellation of the inscription.

The submitted bank receipt must state the exact student name as per passport and as stated in the inscription form, as well as the faculty to attend: PIANO or CONDUCTING

Pianists: Inscription is open until May 31, 2021.

Piano students shall receive tuition by Maestro Soriano on September the first three days of the course. in Sala Eutherpe, (address No. 10, Calle Alfonso V), between 10 AM - 1:30 PM and 4 - 7:30 PM.

All inscription forms must be received by May 31, 2021 and must include all requested documentation and bank receipt as proof of payment of the stated €80.
The application must also include a RECENT RECORDING (in CD or online link) of their concerto of choice, selected from the repertoire list for the 17th Edition of the Masterclass listed above. This concerto must be performed from memory with a second piano or with orchestra. The link may be included in the application email sent to; alternatively, a CD may be submitted to the postal address of Fundación Eutherpe: Calle Cardenal Landázuri No. 6, 24003-León (Spain)
Upon review of all the recordings by Maestro Soriano, the final list of admitted students will be published and communicated to the applicants by the end of June 2021.
Upon confirmation of participation, the selected students must pay the remaining €720 of the €800 student fee by June 30.

Conductors: Inscription is open until June 30, 2021.

Conducting students shall receive tuition by Maestro Aprea on September the first three days of the course. in Auditorio Ángel Barja, León Conservatoire (address No. 11, Calle Santa Nonia, León), between 10 AM - 1:30 PM and 4 - 7:30 PM.

Active students must learn all four concerti from the repertoire list.
SELECTION: Maestro Aprea will teach each applicant (up to a maximum of 10) during the first three days of the Course. After this time, Maestro Aprea shall select the students who will proceed to Stage Two. This stage will include the orchestra and shall take place in the Auditorio Ciudad de León.

Conductors who proceed to Stage Two with orchestra must submit payment for the remaining €720 of the €800 student fee before the end of the Course.



PASSIVE STUDENTS: Inscription is open until August 30.

Passive students may sit in any and all sessions, piano and conducting, as well as both final performances. Student fee: €200.



  • The program and sequence for the final performances are at the sole discretion of the Maestros. Moreover, only the Maestros will decide the distribution and sequence of the classes.
  • If at any point during the course, the Maestros decide an active student shall not continue participating in the classes, they may choose to remain as passive students.
  • Pianists may practise at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de León (address No. 11, Calle Santa Nonia) or at Escuela Eutherpe (address No. 6, Calle Cardenal Landázuri) for the duration of the course. Practise times shall be announced at a later date.
  • All students must bring their own sheet music of the correct concerto or concerti for the course. Active students must also bring originals or bound copies for his/her Maestro.
  • All active students must pack suitable concert clothes.



Upon completion of the course, all active students will be awarded a Participation Diploma. Passive students who complete the course (60 hours) will be awarded a Certificate of Assistance.



Masterclasses will take place from 5 to 12 September 2021, 10 AM – 1:30 PM and 4 – 7:30 PM.

Stage 1: from August 5 to 6 September

Maestros Aprea and Soriano will work separately at the aforementioned venues:
Piano: Sala Eutherpe (No. 10, Calle Alfonso V, León)
Conductors: with repetiteur José Gallego: Auditorio Ángel Barja (Conservatorio de León, No. 11, Calle Santa Nonia, León).
Pianists may be called in to participate in the conducting classes and play the solo part together with the repetiteur (who will play the orchestral part) at the request of Maestro Aprea.

At the end of Stage 1 both Maestros will select the students for Stage 2 with the León Youth Orchestra (JOL) at the Auditorio Ciudad de León.

Stage 2: September 7–12 with León Youth Orchestra

Venue: Auditorio Ciudad de León (Avenida Reyes Leoneses, 4).
Pianists and conductors will have class together with the Orchestra.
Before the end of this stage, the Maestros will decide the program and sequence for the final concerts on September 12 and 13. 

Final concerts: September 11–12

Auditorio Ciudad de León.
Mornings: Rehearsal classes for the day’s concert.
Evenings: Concerts start at 8 PM.
